UW-Whitewater, ranked second in the NCAA Division III preseason polls, opened the 2009 season with a 38-3 win at Dickinson State behind Warhawk QB Jeff Donovan (Sr.- Wauwatosa).
Donovan, who completed 23 of 32 passes for 349 yards and 2 TDs, including a
63yd. toss, is the West Wisconsin Sports "WIAC Player of the Week." |

172yds. and five (5) TDs, against Midland Lutheran College (Neb), on Saturday, is
once again the West Wisconsin Sports "WIAC Player of the Week".
Jeff tied a UW-Whitewater record in the effort, shared by three other Warhawks, including Justin Jacobs (4 times), the last time against Wesley College on 12/09/2006. |

TB Cory Sartorelli, in a 52-45, UW-EC Blugold (2-1) shoot-out victory, in Holland, MI. Saturday, against Hope College (0-3), is the WWS, "WIAC Player of the Week".
Cory scored six (6) TDs, and ran for 180 yards on 33 attempts.
Sartorelli, a senior from Appleton Wi, (North) tied the Blugold school record for most rushing TDs in a single game, (Chad Hoiska, 6, November 8, '97), and with 4 TDs in the first half, kept the Blugolds in the game against a tough road opponent, who have won 6 MIAA Champonships, the last in 2007.
The Blugold TB was the WWS "WIAC Player of the Week", last season in a 285 yd. effort with 4 TD's (2008) against Hope College, in Carson Park. |

shred Missouri S & T 48-0 this week, UW-La Crosse TB, Reid Oldenburg, is the WWS "WIAC Player of the Week."
Oldenburg, a 6' 1", 235 lb. senior out of Burlington, WI., on 18 attempts,
racked up 96 yards, with a 5.3 yd average. Reid scored 3-TD's, leading the Eagles
to a lop-sided victory at the new Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in
La-Crosse.
Oldenburg rushed for 206 yards and 2-Td's in a 48-24 win against Azusa Pacific
(Calif.) last week. |

UW-Stevens Point QB, Jared Beckwith (Sr. - Baraboo, WI ) in a 48-33 winning performance at Goerke Field against the UW-EC Blugolds, in the 23rd annual "spud bowl" is the "WIAC Player of the
Week".
Beckwith completed 28 of 39 passes for 447 yards and five (5) touchdowns.
The senior, majoring in elementary education, a UM-Duluth transfer in 2007, was the
Team MVP, Back of the Year, and All-WIAC first team selection in 2008. |

Warhawk tailback Levell Coppage (So.-Oak Park /Ill) is the WWS "WIAC Player of the
Week". Levell rushed for
382 yards on 41 attempts in a 38-14 romp over UW-EC and the Blugolds at Perkins Field, in
Whitewater, on Sat. Oct. 10, 2009.
Coppage, rushed for the second highest all-time total in Wisconsin
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference history, second only to a 391 yard game
performance by Andrew Mocadlo of UW-La Crosse versus UW-Stout in 2003.
The Warhawk TB favorite sports personality is former Chicago Bears great, Walter
'sweetness' Payton. |

UW-Whitewater kicker, Jeff Schebler (Sr.-Davenport/IA), is the WWS 'WIAC player of the week' with his record breaking performance against the UW-Stout Blue Devils on Sat. Oct. 17, at Don and Nona Williams Stadium, in Menomonie.
Schebler broke the NCAA Division III points record (263) held by Mike Zimmerman of Mount Union College (2003-2005) en route to a 38-3 blowout.
Schebler, nicknamed 'Schebs', a 3-time All-American kicker, sporting a 3.3 GPA, was All-State Soccer, All-State Football, All-Area Football at Assumption High School.
When he's not studying or playing football, Schebler likes 'Monopoly', his favorite movie is 'Gladiator', and his dream job would be a kicker in the NFL. |

Warhawk, wide receiver, Aaron Rusch (Jr.-Hartford/WI) who surpassed the
Whitewater reception record (162) formerly held by Jim Leszczynski (2002-2005)
with 7 catches for 127 yards, in a 38-14 Warhawk win, over UW-River Falls, on
Sat. Oct. 24th, is the WWS 'WIAC player of the week.'
Rusch moved in to 3rd place on the school's career receiving yardage list, with
2,291 yards, passing Joe Gerlach (1979-82) who accumulated 2,250.
When he's not on the gridiron, or studying, Aaron likes to play cribbage, grill
out and hang out with friends. His favorite food is, 'steak and hot wings' and
he would someday like to be a player in the NFL, as his favorite player is New
England Patriot, wide receiver, Randy Moss. |

UW-Stout's
running back Craig Warminski ( So.-Stanley/WI ) with a superior effort against
UW-La Crosse, rumbled for 128 yards and 3 touchdowns, en route to a 35-28
victory on Halloween, October, 31st, is the WWS 'WIAC Player of the Week.'
Warminski, the WIAC player of the week in October, also nabbed four passes for
27 yards, helping the Blue Devils to their first-ever, three ( 3 ) consecutive
wins against UW-La Crosse, having beaten the Eagles 26-14 last year in Menomonie,
and in 2007, 31-28, at La Crosse.
Craig rushed 26 times for 167 yards and one touchdown and caught one nine-yard
pass for a touchdown in UW-Stout's 36-15 win over UW-Eau Claire on Oct. 24.
D3football.com named Warminski to the 'team of the week' last year, for his
efforts against UW-River Falls and the Falcons...returning 10 kicks for 233
yards. |

In
a 43-10 drubbing of the UW-Platteville Pioneers, on Saturday, Nov. 7th, UW-Stout
Blue Devil defensive back, Kendall Wade ( Sr.-Bay View/WI ), is the WWS choice
for Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference ( WIAC ) 'player of the week'
honors.
During the 2nd quarter against the Pioneers, Kendall, who started in all 9 games
this season, stepped in front of an errant Platteville QB John Kelly pass,
returning it 36-yards for a score, handing Stout a 29-0 advantage.
Tied for the team lead, with 4 interceptions this year, in the 3rd quarter, Wade
blocks a Platteville punt at the 6-yd. line, setting up another Blue Devil
score.
The student/athlete, majoring in business, when he's not on the gridiron, or
studying, enjoys basketball, swimming, bowling, and track, earning All-American
honors as a member of the Blue Devils track club in 2009. |

UW-Stout tight end Patrick Mengelkoch ( Jr.-Champlin/ MN ), with a three ( 3 ) touchdown performance against UW-Oshkosh and the Titans, on Saturday, Nov., 14th, in a 27-24, Blue Devil, upset road-win, has garnered WWS
'WIAC player of the week' honors.
The Blue Devil's, who had not been victorious at Titan Stadium since 1997, finally put those ghosts to rest, thanks in part to Mengelkoch, who on five receptions, grabbed a career high three (3) TD's, accumulating 69 receiving yards, possibly sending Stout, with a 8-2 record, to the NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time since 2000.
Mengelkoch, a service management major, who previously had never caught more than one touchdown pass in a game, when he's not studying, or practicing on the gridiron, likes sports and hanging out with friends. |
