| Owen-Withee's dream team made Coach Terry
Laube's dream come true last Saturday. Led by running back Mason Gay, the
Blackhawks thundered to a 50-36 win over Lena/St. Thomas Aquinas to claim the
8-Man state title. Gay missed the tight 23-21 semifinal win over Highland but
returned with a vengeance for the state final. Breaking tackles on nearly every
carry, Gay rushed for 321 yards and 6 touchdowns to lead the Blackhawks to a
perfect 12-0 record. |
