2021 Dairyland champ, Augusta opened the season in thrilling fashion with a 34-22 comeback win over Pittsville Friday night. Sr. QB Brennan King led the Beavers attack, completing 7 of 9 passes for 178 yards. King added 2 TDs on the ground to round out the scoring for Augusta. RB Levi White ran for 99 yards and caught 5 passes while last season's leading rusher Ben Dickinsen contributed 45 yards rushing. The Beavers will be a tough out for any Dairyland team if King provides the big strike passes to go with the punishing ground game. Week 2 puts the defense on display against the pass happy Fall Creek Crickets, as Augusta, and head coach Derek Boldt, attempts to recreate the magic of the powerhouses of the 80's under Hall of Fame coach Tom Crowe.
