| Ellsworth's dynamic running back, Max Grand,
stepped up big time for the Panthers in last week's commanding 54-13 win over
Northwestern. Facing an undefeated Tiger squad that was limiting opponents to an
average of 82 yards a game rushing, Grand raced through and around Northwestern
for 209 yards and 2 TDs. QB Jack Janke took advantage of the defense keying on
Grand to score 4 rushing TDs on only 5 carries. Grand's season rushing total
moved to 1431 yards. But, considering he rarely carried the ball in the second
half of most of the Ellsworth wins, that total could have been much higher.
Grand is truly one of the best backs in the state. |
