Durand opened their season against perennial Dunn-St. Croix power Spring Valley and came away with a 33-14 win last week. Senior RB Simon Bauer led the Panthers with 207 yards on 20 carries. Bauer scored from 10 yards out 4 minutes into the game and Durand never looked back. Bauer quietly had an impressive 2020 campaign, rushing for 1375 yards in only 8 games. The Panthers will need big performances each week from Bauer to make a run for the title in the tough Cloverbelt conference.
