| Luck wrapped up a memorable 2019 season with a
42-27 win over Newman Catholic to win the first official WIAA 8-man title. Even
more memorable were the runs put down by senior running back Levi Jensen. Jensen
opened the scoring with a 65 yard TD run seconds into the first quarter. Not
satisfied with that effort, Jensen followed with touchdown runs of 72 and 98
yards while still in the first quarter. After a fourth Jensen TD run put Luck up
28-14 at the half, the Cardinals faced a furious rally by Newman in the second
half to narrow the Luck lead to 34-27. Superman to the rescue, as late in the
fourth quarter, Jensen scored his fifth touchdown of the game on a 38 yard
gallop to put the Cardinals up for good and win the first WIAA 8-man
championship. |
