Game Result: Grantsburg 51, Unity 13 |
Unity plays Grantsburg every year in the
Lakeland North conference and the Eagles have been very good for a long time but
they have to be getting tired of Chenal's running over their defense time and
time again. In last week's Level 2 playoff game, Leo Chenal ran over and around
Unity for 336 yards and 6 touchdowns despite being keyed on by the Unity defense
on every snap. Chenal boosted his season rushing totals to 1674 yards and 38 TDs.
With lopsided wins, Chenal has rarely played into the second half so his rushed
total could be far greater than it is, especially when you look at his eye
popping 13.1 yards per carry. The road to Madison could not get any tougher with
games against Regis in Level 3 and Iola-Scandinavia in the semi-finals if they
get by the Ramblers, and that still leaves a game to win in the finals at Camp
Randall to take home the gold ball. Don't bet against Grantsburg as long as
their is a Chenal still playing. |
