TD Runs (Level 2) :: 33yds, 28yds, 13yds,
6yds & 1yd
Game Result: New Richmond 55, Onalaska 29 |
Sam Altena may not be the household name that
other running backs have achieved in the area but he is one of the best in the
state playing for New Richmond. Look at Altena's last three games. 683 yards and
16 touchdowns rushing! That would be a very good season for most backs in the
area. Now total his season stats out to 1990 yards and 34 TDs and you can see
why Altena is such a difference maker. In the Level 2 game against Onalaska,
Altena scored 4 second half touchdowns to help the Tigers break the game wide
open. New Richmond moves on to Level 3 facing a familiar foe in Rice Lake. In
week two, the Tigers dropped a crazy 52-40 game to the Warriors but Altena still
ran for 133 yards and 4 scores with everybody on defense keying on him. With the
focus on stopping Altena, QB Mikah Kier needs to be effective with the pass game
to move the Tigers down the field and let Altena find the end zone. Like last
year, New Richmond is hoping that the upset takes place again and the Tigers
advance to the semi finals in Level 4. |
