Game Result: Eau Claire Regis 21, Edgar 0 |
Regis has met all their goals for the Fall of
2012 except for the last one on the check list, state champions. With so many
talented returning starters this season, the Ramblers were picked by all the
experts from the start of fall practice to make it to Madison. They did it with
relative ease, trailing only one time in the second half of a game all season.
Regis is far from being a one man team but at a different school that one man
may be Khadel Akindolire. The Rambler running back averages only 12 carries a
game but his 7.7 yards per carry has him approaching 1000 yards for the season.
His 17 carries for 75 tough yards led the way in Regis' 21-0 whitewashing of
undefeated Edgar at Level 4. Akindolire's quickness is breathtaking at times as
he winds his way through 8 and 9 defensive fronts set up to stop the double wing
attack. One of the reason's for Akindolire's limited carries are the talented
running backs that compliment him. Inside running by Mike Maenner and opposite
wing bursts by Chris Pica-Anderson make Regis balanced and dangerous at all
times. Add an underrated defense that has been lights out in the playoffs and
you have a formula for victory at Camp Randall. |
